If you are staying at our parks in 2024, there are a multitude of local events across Shropshire, Herefordshire and North Wales to pop into your calendar.
From mouthwatering culinary festivals to captivating literary talks and marathons with breathtaking views, there is something for everyone.
We have put together the events to look out for in 2024 to help you plan your stay with us. Be sure to book your stay early as some of these events can be very popular!

Shrewsbury
If you are staying at our Oxon Hall Touring Park in Shrewsbury this year, we have some key dates for your diary. Only a short bus journey into the town centre on the adjacent park and ride service, Oxon Hall is within easy reach of festivals, flower shows and vintage fairground rides.
Shrewsbury Food Festival
When: Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June
Where: The Quarry Park, Shrewsbury, SY1 1RN
Get those tastebuds tingling at the Shrewsbury Food Festival! Discover stalls filled with delicious produce from independent vendors, enjoy live music performances, or learn tips from talented chefs.
Let’s Rock Shrewsbury
When: Saturday 13th July
Where: The Quarry Park, Shrewsbury, SY1 1RN
Listen to a line-up of 80’s favourites, including Bananarama, Go West, Jason Donovan, Squeeze and Martin Kemp DJ at the Let’s Rock Festival, that celebrates the era of big hair and big tunes.
Shrewsbury Flower Show
When: Friday 9th and Saturday 10th August
Where: The Quarry Park, Shrewsbury, SY1 1RN
The biggest event in the Shrewsbury calendar, the Flower Show attracts visitors from across the country. Marvel at beautiful floral displays before stopping to take in celebrity chef talks and demonstrations, plus live music, trade stands and a spectacular firework display to end the evening.
Shrewsbury Folk Festival
When: Friday 23rd to Monday 26th August
Where: West Midlands Showground, Shrewsbury, SY1 2PF
Fun for all the family, the Shrewsbury Folk Festival is host to a variety of fantastic live performances, from established musicians to newcomers to the music scene. As well as music, enjoy food vendors, bars and a craft fair.
Shrewsbury Steam Rally
When: Sunday 25th and Monday 26th August
Where: Onslow Park, SY3 5EE
Marvel at a variety of vintage vehicles in action with over 1000 exhibits at the Shrewsbury Steam Rally. Watch the parades in the Main Arena, from steam-powered engines to vintage cars, enjoy demonstrations of traditional farming techniques in the Working Field, and enjoy other attractions such as craft stalls and fairground rides.
Shropshire Oktoberfest
When: Friday 4th & Saturday 5th October
Where: The Quarry Park, Shrewsbury, SY1 1RN
Get into the spirit of Oktoberfest and sample a range of ciders, ales, gins, cocktails, wine and more whilst enjoying live entertainment such as live music and comedy acts, a silent disco and street food.
Ludlow
Famous for its festivals, Ludlow is a town with a vibrant events calendar. Only 1.5 miles from our Ludlow Touring Park, make sure to pop these dates into your diary.
Ludlow Spring Festival
When: Friday 10th to Sunday 12th May
Where: Ludlow Rugby Club, SY8 1EE
Set within the impressive grounds of Ludlow Castle, the Ludlow Spring Festival features food and drink exhibitors from Ludlow and the Welsh Marches. From cheese mongers to chocolatiers, sample a variety of tasty treats.
Ludlow Fringe Festival
When: Thursday 13th June to Sunday 23rd June
Where: Ludlow
Enjoy a programme of arts and culture in a variety of forms at the Ludlow Fringe Festival. Laugh along with comedy shows, gain insight from celebrity interviews, and discover live music, theatre productions and more.
Live at Ludlow Castle
When: Saturday 27th July – Sunday 28th July
Where: Ludlow Castle
The popular music event returns to Ludlow Castle for 2024, with live music performances from pop icon Anne-Marie, as well as music legends Madness with their special guests The Zutons. Please note that tickets for Madness have sold out. Please check the website for more information.
Ludlow Food Festival
When: Friday 13th September to Sunday 15th September
Where: Ludlow Castle, SY8 1AY
A firm favourite for all the foodies, the Ludlow Food Festival is located inside Ludlow Castle and offers chef talks, masterclasses and workshops plus delicious local produce from a variety of exhibitors.
Ludlow Winter Festival
When: Date TBC, likely end of November
Where: Ludlow
A celebration of the festive period, the Ludlow Winter Festival is the place to explore Christmas markets, marvel at illuminations and the Christmas light switch-on, and meet Santa!
Bridgnorth
Steam trains, time travel and ale, if you’re visiting our Stanmore Hall Touring Park here are some Bridgnorth events for 2024:
Severn Valley Spring Gala
When: Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st April
Where: Severn Valley Railway
A four-day festival of steam, the Severn Valley Railway’s Spring Steam Gala will showcase trains from their fleet of vehicles, as well as other visiting locomotives.
Step Back to the 1940s
When: Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June, and Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July
Where: Severn Valley Railway
Discover a fantastic programme of rip-roaring fun at the Severn Valley Railway, and get a glimpse of life in the 1940’s. With things to see and do at stations along the 16-mile railway, you can learn to jive, witness a 1940s wedding, find a bargain at the black market traders or listen to a speech from Winston Churchill.
Severn Valley Railway Ghost Trains
When: Saturday 26th, Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st October
Where: Severn Valley Railway

Llanberis
Test yourself with marathons, triathlons and more at our Llanberis Touring Park, a haven for those looking for outdoor adventure in 2024.
Ultra Trail Snowdonia
When: Friday 10th to Sunday 12th May
Where: Starting point in Llanberis, Snowdonia
If you’re looking for an Ultra challenge, participants in the Ultra Trail Snowdonia are rewarded with incredible views across Snowdonia as they traverse different running trails through rugged scenery and magnificent landscapes.
Gŵyl Fwyd Caernarfon, Caernarfon Food Festival
When: Saturday 11th May
Where: Caernarfon
A celebration of local food, the Caernarfon Food Festival features activities for all the family. Discover stalls brimming with freshly cooked food and vendors selling tasty treats, or watch live cooking demonstrations.
Slate Man Triathlon
When: Sunday 9th June
Where: Llanberis
Starting in Llanberis, tackle this challenging triathlon through the breathtaking scenery of Snowdonia. Swim in the refreshing waters of Llyn Padarn, cycle through Beddgelert and around Snowdon, before running a course that travels a 2km climb through Dinorwic Slate Quarry.
Love SwimRun Llanberis
When: Saturday 15th June
Where: Padarn Country Park, Llanberis
Tackle a multi-transition course including 3.5km of swimming through Llyn Padarn, plus 12.5km of running through beautiful Snowdonia scenery navigating woodlands and mountainous quarries.
Snowdonia Marathon Eyri
When: Saturday 26th October
Where: Llanberis
Voted the Best British Marathon twice, this marathon starts in Llanberis and circles around Snowdon. Runners will be rewarded with breathtaking views as they navigate Llanberis Pass, through Beddgelert and Waunfawr, before climbing at Bwlch y Groes.
Betws-y-Coed
The events calendar local to our Riverside Touring Park is a varied one, from Victorian Extravaganza’s to half marathons!
Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza
When: Saturday 4th to Monday 6th May
Where: Llandudno
Step back in time to the Victorian era and enjoy the streets of Llandudno taken over by vintage attractions, including a fun fair. From magicians and circus performers to classic steam vehicles, there is fun for all the family.
Conwy River Festival
When: Saturday 6th to Monday 8th July, and Friday 12th to Sunday 14th July
Where: Conwy Bay, Conwy
The Conwy River Festival is the place for sailors to test their sea-faring skills with races and routes from Conwy to Caernarfon. Choose between two events, from the LA-LA Rally to the racing weekend.
Betws-y-Coed Trail Challenge
When: Friday 29th and Saturday 30th November
Where: Betws-y-Coed
Starting and ending in Betws-y-Coed, the Betws-y-Coed Trail Challenge offers a variety of courses navigating through the beautiful Gwydir Forest and around the magnificent Llyn Elsi. Choose between 5k, 10k or half-marathon courses.
Herefordshire
Philosophy, music and cider are just a few of the treats lined up in the 2024 Herefordshire event calendar. Keep these dates in your diary if you are visiting our Poston Mill Touring Park.
RossBeerFest
When: Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May
Where: Ross-on-Wye
Relax with a beverage whilst listening to live music from regional bands and artists as you enjoy a wide range of beer and cider at this two-day festival.
RUN Hereford
When: Sunday 12th May
Where: Hereford Livestock Market, HR4 7AN
Now in its 44th year, RUN Hereford is a popular running event in aid of St Michael’s Hospice. Discover beautiful Herefordshire countryside as you navigate 5k, 10k or half marathon courses.
HowTheLightGetsIn
When: Friday 24th May to Monday 27th May
Where: Off Newport Street, Hay-on-Wye, HR3 5BZ
The world’s largest music and philosophy festival, HowTheLightGetsIn is located alongside the river Wye and hosts world-leading thinkers. Listen to debates and discuss various thought-provoking topics, or discover live music, artisan stalls, vintage fairground rides, banquet feasts and more, at this festival that ignites the imagination.
Hay Festival
When: Thursday 23rd May to Sunday 2nd June
Where: Hay-on-Wye
Aiming to inspire its visitors and ignite new ways of thinking around art, culture and science, the Hay Festival is perhaps the biggest event in the Herefordshire calendar. Listen to talks from Nobel Prize winners, novelists, scientists, historians, politicians, environmentalists and more.
Hellens Garden Festival
When: Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June
Where: Hellens Manor, Much Marcle, HR8 2LY
Celebrating sustainability, the Hellens Garden Festival is a celebration of people, plants and the planet. With creative exhibitions, sculpture trails, workshops, live music, poetry performances and forums, the festival inspires creativity throughout.
Hereford Indie Food Festival
When: Friday 23rd to Monday 26th August
Where: Hereford
This urban festival is a celebration of street food from vendors based in Herefordshire and beyond. Soak up the atmosphere and listen to live music, or browse the maker’s market for a delicious treat to take home.
Hay Festival Winter Weekend
When: Thursday 28th November to Sunday 1st December
Where: Hay-on-Wye
A smaller version of the popular Hay Festival, the Winter Weekend features talks and debates from guest speakers on topics from art, culture and science. Feel the festive spirit with the Hay-on-Wye Christmas light switch-on, which also takes place as part of the festival.
