Festive season is just around the corner, and there are plenty of fantastic Christmas events happening in Shropshire and Herefordshire throughout November and December 2025.
If you’re staying at our parks for the Christmas season, don’t forget to add these dates to your diary!
Shropshire
Ludlow
Steeped with history and with quaint streets lined with Grade listed buildings, Ludlow is a perfect Christmas-card town, only 1.5 miles away from our Ludlow Touring Park.
Christmas Light Switch-On: Saturday 29th November at 5:30pm
Ludlow Winter Festival & Christmas Light Switch-on
28th to 30th November
The festivities at Ludlow kickstart with the Winter Festival. Held over three days, the festival begins on the Friday and includes events such as live music, a Panto Performance, craft fairs, Christmas Tree Trail at Ludlow Castle, and the big event itself – the Christmas light switch-on.
Croft Castle’s Victorian Christmas
Various dates from 22nd November to 4th January
Located just under 6 miles away from our Ludlow Touring Park and a National Trust property, Croft Castle is a grand 17th century manor house and the perfect setting for some festive fun. Discover the castle’s Victorian Christmas, held on various days in November and December, and step back in time to enjoy beautifully decorated rooms and festive stories.
Shrewsbury
A fantastic option for your festive stay, our Oxon Hall Touring Park is within easy reach of Shrewsbury town centre. Simply hop on the park and ride bus service, adjacent to the park, and discover a bustling historic market town.
Christmas Light Switch-On: Wednesday 19th November at 6:30pm
To start the festive season in style, the Christmas Lights Switch On will be held on Wednesday 19th November with music and Christmas activities starting from 4:30pm, and the grand switch on at 6:30pm.
Shrewsbury Farmers Market: Christmas Market
19th to the 20th December
The ideal Christmas shopping location, Shrewsbury will have a variety of craft fairs and markets to find a treasure or two.
On Friday 19th and Saturday 20th December, visit the town square and discover the Shrewsbury Farmers Market, Christmas Market. Featuring a host of Shropshire-based artists, craftspeople and food producers, add that unique, handmade gift to your Christmas shopping list.
Carols in the Square
17th December
If you enjoy a sing-along, head to the town square on Wednesday 17th December for the annual Carols in the Square event, starting at 5:30pm. Join the Shrewsbury Male Voice Choir as they sing a mixture of traditional carols and festive favourites.
Attingham Park
29th November to 1st January
The beautiful Georgian mansion and grounds of Attingham Park, a National Trust property, are transformed during the festive season.
Between the 29th November and the 1st January, discover the beautifully decorated rooms throughout the Ground Floor and the Basement of the mansion that will showcase some of the most memorable Christmas traditions from the past.
On select weekdays between the 1st and the 19th December, the Outer Courtyard will feature the Christmas Bandstand with live performances of carols and festive favourites.
Bridgnorth
Located less than 3 miles from our Stanmore Hall Touring Park, visit the quaint town of Bridgnorth and discover various festive events.
Christmas Lights Switch-On: Friday 28th November
Head to Bridgnorth High Street on 28th November between 4pm and 8pm for the Christmas Light Switch-On, where there will also be food, stalls, and live entertainment.
Blists Hill’s Victorian Christmas
3rd to 23rd December
Step back in time and discover what the festive season was like in the Victorian era at this living museum!
Stroll down decorated streets and learn about the origins of the traditions still used to day, and see them brought to life in the Victorian era.
Severn Valley Railway’s Carol Trains
12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 22nd and 23rd December
Take a train with a festive twist on the Severn Valley Railway!
Starting at Kidderminster, board a classic steam train and enjoy a journey filled with festive carols and songs from different eras as you travel towards the Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley.
Once you arrive at the Engine House, join in with further carols and sing along with the choir whilst enjoying a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.
Severn Valley Railway Festive Culinary Events
Various dates through December
The Severn Valley Railway are offering a variety of dining experiences with a difference, as you travel on a traditional train.
Available on various dates throughout December, enjoy an Enchanted Afternoon Tea as you travel through the Severn Valley and enjoy tasty treats such as scones, sandwiches and fine tea.
If you fancy a little more to eat, the Festive Bistro Express will be departing from Kidderminster station on Saturday 6th and Monday 22nd December. Enjoy a delicious two-course meal aboard the First Class carriage.

Herefordshire
Both within easy reach of our Poston Mill Touring Park, Hereford and Hay-on-Wye make the perfect settings for some festive adventures!

Hereford
Hereford Cathedral Christmas Fair
14th December
Held annually, Hereford Cathedral is a majestic setting to tick off some of your Christmas shopping list!
With over forty stallholders, discover a selection of homemade produce, handcrafted gifts and festive crafts and enjoy carols sung outside the cathedral near midday.
Hereford Christmas Markets
Various dates throughout December
Enjoy the magic of Hereford at Christmas and visit Hereford’s High Town to explore stalls selling a variety of items, including handcrafted gifts, to help you find that perfect present for a loved one.
St Michael’s Hospice Santa Run
21st December
For a festive event with a difference, and a chance to burn off some of those Christmas calories, why not check out the Hereford Santa Run?
Cheer on hundreds of participants, each one dressed as Santa Claus, as they make their way around the city to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice.
Hay-on-Wye
Hay Festival Winter Weekend
27th to 30th November
A smaller version of the popular Hay Festival, enjoy a host of events to boost your festive spirit at the Winter Weekend.
Discover a programme of literary talks and workshops across the town on a variety of topics, from comedy to wildlife to politics. Listen to talks from well-known names such as Susie Dent, Mary Portas, Hamza Yassin, Joanna Page and many more.
Don’t forget to check out the Christmas Light Switch-On in Memorial Square on 28th November and feel the festive spirit with hot food, market stalls, and a steam engine Santa drive-by.
