A 25-minute drive from our Ludlow Touring Park will take you right into the heart of the Shropshire Hills, but stunning views can be seen throughout the county.

Get a headstart on Santa’s elves with some Christmas shopping! The historical towns of Shropshire are home to some wonderful independent and quirky shops to ensure you find that perfect gift for a special someone.
Be sure to check out Wyle Cop in Shrewsbury (thought to be the UK’s longest street of uninterrupted independent businesses), where you will find shops such as Snoop that offers colourful lifestyle items, or Tanners, a family run, independent wine merchant. We would also recommend the Ludlow Farmshop, where you can find handcrafted and delicious food treats. Both of these are just a stone’s throw away from our Oxon Hall and Ludlow Touring Parks, respectively.
And if you’re looking for high street names and brands, the town of Telford has you covered and is less than 20 miles away from our Oxon Hall Touring Park.
With Christmas markets and craft fairs popping up, you never know what treasure you might find.
Visit Scrooge’s Grave
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is a much-loved festive tale, retold annually and passed to each new generation.
Dickens was a fan of Shrewsbury, and the first-ever public reading of A Christmas Carol was held in the Music Hall in the historic town!
Fast forward to the 80’s, and the historic streets of Shrewsbury became Victorian London for the filming of the 1984 movie adaption of the classic tale. You can still pay a visit to the grave of Ebenezer Scrooge in the graveyard of St Chad’s Church, right in Shrewsbury town centre.
Why not take part in a guided tour of the film locations? Join an expert guide from Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery as they show you parts of Shrewsbury featured in A Christmas Carol. Tours are run annually on various dates in December.
Easy to get to via the Park & Ride service, which is within walking distance of our Oxon Hall Touring Park, this is a must-see for all Dickens fans.
